Lesson Five Basic Stage Progression

Welcome to Lesson 5, Stage Progression with Scope Creep Validation & Change Request! This is a big lesson with some new, exciting techniques!

Now that we are collecting if there is scope creep with our project phases, we need to do something with it other than simply capture that it happened. In this lesson, we will expand our solution to allow the project manager the option to add a change request case to the project for monitoring purposes.

Once again, our business need expands. Now we are addressing, “I need a controlled method to progress projects through all phases of a project management lifecycle where the phase selections are dependent on the project type. The current phase should be highlighted within the full project lifecycle and displayed on a project panel for ease of navigation. As the project progresses through each phase, the project manager should indicate if there was any scope creep identified in the previous phase. If scope creep was identified, the project manager should have the option to add a new Change Request case to the project container.”
